The Level 2 UAL Diploma in Art and Design has been designed as an introductory programme that will help you to develop practical skills in Art and Design. You will develop your research skills, your personal confidence, and learn about progression opportunities in the Art and Design industries. There will be opportunities to learn skills within drawing, 2D design, printmaking, photography, textiles, sculpture, 3D design and digital media. You will have access to a wide range of workshops from 3D, printmaking, photography, fashion & textiles as well as a variety of apple mac suites.
This is a creative two-year course that allows you to discover a wide range of visual arts media. The course develops your creativity, developing your idea generation skills along with practical and technical workshops. Your experience will be rich, diverse and challenging. Learners develop knowledge, understanding and skills required by the art and design sector, including essential employability skills, and apply them in real work contexts.
This pre-degree course prepares you to apply with confidence for a place on any Art and Design BA (Hons) degree course. This is an intensive, creative course that promotes and stimulates inventive and experimental analysis of the arts. Our goal is to provide the creative groundwork on which you can base the rest of your professional life. Your experience will be rich, diverse and challenging. Learners develop knowledge, understanding and skills required by the sector, including essential employability skills, and apply them in real work contexts. Students will regularly work with outside businesses on live projects and exhibit in external venues.
This course is designed for 16+ students who want to build photography, film-making and/or graphic design skills to progress onto level 3 courses or into the creative industries. The program will teach a high level of technical photography, creative process skills, and professional studio techniques, with employability in graphic design, digital editing, video/ filming and portfolio building.
During the 2-year programme, you will learn the core knowledge and skills needed to enter a range of craft and design occupations.
Learn specific skills in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for the purpose of Graphic Design. Local designer Stephanie Fulke will take you through this introduction to Graphic Design, understand design process and generating ideas for graphic design outcomes.
Local illustrator Bethan Thorsby will lead you through this exciting 15 week course.
The Printmaking course is designed to introduce you to basic printmaking techniques such as mono printing, dry point etching, lino printing and screen printing and will be taught in our specialist print studio.
