The English and maths programmes make use of the college’s excellent ICT and VLE facilities to promote independent learning and extension activities outside of college.
There will be continuous formative assessment throughout the course leading to summative externally written examination papers in May or June for A-Level and GCSE, and throughout the year for Functional Skills.

Jennifer Pakenham-Walsh
After studying for my Maths degree at Leeds University, I went on to work in accountancy for a few years before going into secondary school teaching. I worked as a Maths teacher for 13 years before joining college as a Maths lecturer in 2019. Whether you are in my class studying A-level or GCSE, I aim to build your confidence in Maths in a calm and friendly environment. I love that college allows everyone to explore and learn about themselves in a non-judgmental environment.
