This course is for learners who may wish to work within the agricultural industry or progress to further learning and/or training. Learners may be new to agriculture or have some knowledge and basic skills and want to develop their skills, perhaps to start work on a farm or prepare for further training. The Level 2 course allows learners to develop underpinning knowledge whilst practising skills that could be used within employment in the agriculture industry.
This course combines academic knowledge with meaningful work placements within the agriculture sector. During the 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills needed for entry to various agriculture, land management and production occupations.

If your job involves applying pesticides in a commercial role then you are legally required by the Plant Protection Products (Sustainable Use) Regulations (2012) to take this qualification.
If you need to buy or use sheep dip products, then under the Medicines (Exemptions for Merchants in Veterinary Drugs) Order 1998, you will need to hold this qualification.
