Course Overview
This level 3 course is aimed at those with an existing intermediate knowledge of I.T. and the Microsoft Office suite. You will learn to use the Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint at advanced level whilst working towards gaining the City & Guilds Level 3 IT Users Diploma.
You will spend practical sessions with your tutor who is a qualified Microsoft Expert. During the sessions you will watch demonstrations and then complete tasks yourself to learn the various tools and techniques that Microsoft Office has to offer. You will be fully supported with your learning and your tutor will guide you through each task, assisting you where needed. The learning takes place in a very supportive environment.
You will gain the qualification by completing a portfolio of work, which will be assessed by your tutor/assessor. For each unit you will collect evidence, which will be practical examples of your IT work created during the sessions and questionnaires to cover the knowledge.
There are no exams.
Entry Requirements
To embark on the level 3 course, you need to have some existing IT skills and knowledge. Ideally you will have completed a level 2 IT qualification, but this is not essential.
After Your Course
On completion of the course, you should have the skills and ability to use Microsoft Office Software confidently in an office environment. You will have learnt many tips and tricks to improve your productivity and make you more efficient in any office task.

The fee displayed is the course fee. Course fees are per year for full-time courses and per course for part-time courses.
Other costs may be associated with this course, e.g., kit, equipment, books, trips, etc. Financial support may be available to support you with these. See the Student Money pages for more information.

The current full-time & degree-level fee information is related to the 2024/25 academic year.
Level 3-6 Courses
Advanced Learning Loans are available for students aged 19 or over and studying eligible level 3, 4, 5 & 6 courses. If you are on an Access course, the loan will be written off if you complete a degree.
You may qualify for financial support to cover the cost of a Level 3 qualification if you do not already have a Level 3 qualification (this will depend on the course & your age on 31/08/24).

A-Levels
The fees displayed are for the one-year AS-Level course. If you would like to progress onto the full A-Level, please get in touch with us for the cost of the second year, as it will be different.
16-18 year olds
There are no course fees if you were aged 16-18 on 31/08/24 and are not studying at another institution.
