Course Overview

This a mainly practical course, with most of your studies taking place in the award-winning Lakes Hotel School. It will also include theory lessons and research into the industry, which you will have to do at home.

Whilst studying this course you will get the opportunity to work with industry experts and on high-profile events such as the 'Mayor's Annual Dinner' and the 'Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards'.

The course incorporates traditional service styles and the use of technology when taking orders to enhance your skills ready for the industry or to help you update your skills. You will also have the opportunity to extend your learning with courses such as the 'Wine and Spirit Education Trust' and 'Personal Licensee Certificate', as well as Intermediate Food Hygiene.

The assessment method is a holistic approach that will take into account all the units you are doing over the term. You will also be set work to complete in the form of work packs to help complete the units on top of the assessment plans you will be doing.
