New Courses & Support for Newton Rigg Students
From September 2021, we will be offering new courses in uniformed public services and are accepting Newton Rigg applications for the second year of study in some course areas.

Each week our students will prepare a three-course menu from seasonal ingredients.

The restaurant hosts a variety of special events during the year, including guest chef evenings, food festivals, seasonal, and other special events. See our Restaurant Brochure for a full list of dates.

Vegetarian options are always available, and we can accommodate most special dietary requirements, but please let us know in advance.

Sample 3-course lunch menu

Our three-course lunch menu is available for £13.50 per person.

A choice of either:

  • Field mushroom and chorizo soup, chive dressing
  • Crisp apple salad, salt-baked beetroot, celeriac remoulade
  • Pickled mackerel on rustic tomato bread, tomato salad

Main courses
A choice of either:

  • Pan-fried gammon, griddled broccoli, poached egg, sharp caper and black pepper sauce
  • Breast of chicken, crispy chicken skin, chicken, sweetcorn and watercress broth
  • Spinach and ricotta roulade, spinach purée, roasted new potatoes

A choice of either:

  • Passion fruit and mango mousse, passion fruit sorbet, posset
  • Yoghurt panna cotta, plum sorbet, mini doughnut, espuma
  • Orange sponge pudding, orange sorbet, soaked sultanas

Sample 4-course dinner menu

Our four-course tasting menu is available in the evenings for £24.00 per person.

An example menu:

  • English asparagus, parmesan and egg
  • Pan-fried fillets of sole, shellfish and soft herb
  • Roasted breast of guinea fowl, baby carrots, marinated beetroot, pan juices
  • Chocolate marquise, summer berries, strawberry sorbet
