Our annual and termly bus passes are available to students.

As we are a small college, unfortunately, we cannot provide services to meet everyone’s needs, but we hope our provision continues to benefit the majority of our students. If you have any queries about any of our services, please email transport@kendal.ac.uk.

Stagecoach £2 fares

This applies to single tickets on eligible routes. The government have extended the £2 bus fare cap until December 2024 to keep travel affordable for passengers. It may be cheaper to utilise this offer if you only need bus travel for college, and only have one trip each way (no connections).

Areas with Stagecoach public services

2023/2024 Academic year

The college annual & termly passes enable you to travel on all Stagecoach buses from 4th Sept-21st June, including weekends. As such, this pass could be cheaper if you also use the bus for part-time work & leisure, and/or if you use connecting services to travel to college. You will need to show your college pass & college ID to the driver. For details of costs and application forms, please see below 'Applying for your Bus Pass'.

Stagecoach also offer 7-day MegaRider weekly & monthly tickets.

£2 fare: If you live in an area where Stagecoach public services operate, it may be cheaper to utilise the single fare offer if you only need bus travel for college, and only have one trip each way (no connections). Please see further up this page for information.

Lancaster - Heysham - Morecambe - Carnforth

2023/2024 Academic year

The college annual & termly passes enable you to travel on all Stagecoach buses from 4th Sept-21st June, including weekends (see above). You will need to show your college pass & college ID to the driver.

We also run a dedicated 955 double-decker service, which is only accessible via the college passes. This is because the pass contributes towards the cost of running the service.

From the 4th November 2024, when the timetables switch to the winter timetable, Stagecoach will continue to operate the above journeys to enable a 09:00 to 17:00 college day. The 505 will generally operate every 2 hours during the winter timetable & every hour in the summer timetable, so there are additional opportunities to travel to/from college between these times.

    • For the Eden services, the contribution is £700 (£20 per week). If you are an apprentice and only need to travel on one day, we can arrange a one or two-day only pass for you at a cost of £5 a day, termly payment only.
