Our annual and termly bus passes are available to students.
As we are a small college, unfortunately, we cannot provide services to meet everyone’s needs, but we hope our provision continues to benefit the majority of our students. If you have any queries about any of our services, please email transport@kendal.ac.uk.
Stagecoach £2 fares
This applies to single tickets on eligible routes. The government has extended the £2 bus fare cap until the 31st December 2024 to keep travel affordable for passengers. It may be cheaper to utilise this offer for the Autumn term if you only need bus travel for college and only have one trip each way (no connections).
Areas with Stagecoach public services
2024/2025 Academic year
The college annual & termly passes enable you to travel on all Stagecoach buses from 4th Sept-20th June, including weekends. As such, this pass could be cheaper if you also use the bus for part-time work & leisure and if you use connecting services to travel to college. You must show your college pass & college ID to the driver. For details of costs and application forms, please see below 'Applying for your Bus Pass'.

£2 fare
If you only need to travel for college and have one trip each way (no connections), it may be cheaper to use the single fare offer for the autumn term.

From the 4th November 2024, when the timetables switch to the winter timetable, Stagecoach will continue to operate the above journeys to enable a 09:00 to 17:00 college day. The 505 will generally operate every 2 hours during the winter timetable and every hour in the summer timetable, so there are additional opportunities to travel to/from college between these times.

Cost of a college bus pass

- For the Stagecoach public services and the 955, the contribution is £700 (£20 per week).
- For the Eden services, the contribution is £700 (£20 per week). If you are an apprentice and only need to travel on one day, we can arrange a one or two-day only pass for you at a cost of £5 a day, termly payment only.
