Photography - Professional Practice and Creative Development
This course is designed for photographers who want to develop their work to a more professional level and build a portfolio centred around their own creative interests. Over eight weeks, you will work towards a self-directed photography project based on a personal creative brief, allowing you to explore and develop your individual style and photographic practice.
The 8 week course combines practical workshops with independent project work. Weekly sessions will introduce advanced photographic techniques and professional working methods, including creative studio lighting, product photography, and the use of off-camera flash. These workshops are designed to enhance your technical skills while encouraging experimentation and creative problem-solving.
Throughout the course, you will research, plan, and develop your own photography project, applying the techniques learned in class to produce a cohesive body of work. You will receive guidance on project development, visual communication, and professional presentation, helping you to refine your ideas and achieve ambitious creative outcomes.
Your tutors are experienced photographers with extensive industry and teaching experience. They will support you throughout the course, providing regular feedback, technical guidance, and creative advice to help you progress your photography practice and achieve your project goals.
The course concludes with a showcase of your work, providing an opportunity to present your final project and celebrate your achievements with fellow photographers.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. You should have an interest in photography and the enthusiasm to learn new skills, as well as some experience of taking photographs. You should have access to a bridge cameras (cameras such as Fuji Finepix) or medium-format cameras. The course is not recommended for film camera users who do not have access to a Digital camera as well.
