Photography Next Steps - DSLR Skills Development
This course is designed for photographers who want to develop their technical and creative skills using a DSLR camera. It begins with a review of the basic functions and operation of a DSLR camera before progressing to more advanced settings and controls. Through a series of creative short projects, you will gain confidence in using your camera to its full potential.
Over the 8-week course, you will have the opportunity to work with professional studio lighting for portrait photography and develop digital post-production skills using Adobe Lightroom. The course is suitable for learners with some photography experience who wish to build on and reinforce their existing knowledge and skills.
You will learn how to use shutter speed to control motion, aperture to control depth of field, and research techniques to generate creative ideas and inspiration. Throughout the course, you will develop a personal photography project, applying your new skills to produce a body of work. The course concludes with a showcase of your photography, providing an opportunity to display and celebrate your achievements.
Your tutors are experienced photographers with extensive industry and teaching experience. They will guide you throughout the course, ensuring you stay on track while providing regular feedback, support and advice to help you achieve your creative goals.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. You should have an interest in photography and the enthusiasm to learn new skills, as well as some experience of taking photographs. You should have access to a bridge cameras (cameras such as Fuji Finepix) or medium-format cameras. The course is not recommended for film camera users who do not have access to a Digital camera as well.
