Photography Introduction - 8 Week Course
This course is designed for anyone who enjoys photography and wants to develop their skills in a supportive and creative environment. It begins with an introduction to, or review of, the basic functions and operation of your Smartphone camera and/or bridge camera. Through a series of creative short projects, you will gain confidence in using your camera and understanding its key features.
The course is delivered over eight weeks through a programme of themed weekly workshops. These sessions will help you develop practical photography skills, including capturing motion, controlling depth of field, understanding composition, working with light, and managing exposure settings. Alongside the workshops, you will undertake a range of personal photography activities to put your new skills into practice.
You will use a simple PowerPoint presentation to upload, review and receive feedback on your work. Much of the photography will be completed outside of class, allowing you to explore subjects and locations that interest you.
Your tutors are experienced photographers with extensive industry and teaching experience. They will guide you throughout this creative and technically focused course, providing ongoing feedback, support and advice to help you develop your photography skills.
There is no formal assessment for this course.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. You should have an interest in photography and the enthusiasm to learn new skills, as well as some experience of taking photographs. You should have access to a bridge cameras (cameras such as Fuji Finepix) or medium-format cameras. The course is not recommended for film camera users who do not have access to a Digital camera as well.
