Course Overview

Kendal College success rates are consistently amongst the top 6 percent in the country. We have an excellent track record of students achieving their first choice university and our students are fully prepared and know what to expect from university life upon leaving the College.

Our A-Levels are awarded by AQA.

Our new University Hub reinforces our support, bringing together learning materials with study spaces for our A-Level students. Our tutors are highly experienced with valuable professional experience.

What are A-Levels?
A-Level or 'Advanced Level' is one of the next qualifications after GCSE level and is typically studied over a two-year period. At Kendal College, A-Levels can be combined with professional and technical courses (e.g. Engineering Extended Diploma & Maths A Level) or up to four subjects can be studied on a stand alone basis.

What are AS-levels?
Like A-Levels, AS Level or 'Advanced Subsidiary' Level is one of the next qualifications after GCSE level and again is typically studied over two years. An AS Level is made up of three units and an A Level is made up of six units. Students taking as AS Level in year one can then progress to an A2 level in year two, which when combined, make up a full A-Level. AS Levels were introduced to provide students with more choice in subjects as they can typically study up to five subjects in the first year.
