We seek a passionate and knowledgeable Joinery Technician Facilitator to join our construction department. Successful candidates will have experience in the joinery field. They will build strong, positive working relationships with a supportive and collaborative team and professional services that share the goal of providing a meaningful educational experience. They will have excellent organisational and time-management skills and can prioritise work effectively to meet objectives and deadlines. They will be comfortable with and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. They can plan and prioritise their work schedule to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills, and be happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.

Job Overview

  • To support the learning, teaching and assessment process by providing comprehensive technical assistance, maintenance, coaching and support services to the construction department
  • To ensure a safe environment for teaching and learning which meets health and safety requirements and demonstrates best practice
  • All staff are responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults

        What we're looking for

        Qualifications

        Essential Desirable
        Level 2 qualification in relevant subject (or working towards one) Level 3 or above vocational qualification in a related area
        Basic Health & Safety qualification First Aid qualification
        English, Maths, and Science at Level 2 (GCSE A* to C or equivalent) Intermediate Health & Safety
        Teaching, assessing or training qualification

        Experience

        Essential Desirable
        Recent experience of working in relevant environments for a period of at least 3 years Experience in a learning environment
        Joinery experience or training

        Knowledge & Skills

        Essential Desirable
        Effective communication skills Knowledge of health and safety in an educational environment
        Good general knowledge of health and safety at work in the relevant vocational environment Knowledge of how to develop learners’ skills
        Ability to provide coaching and support to learners
        Strong current technical knowledge and skills in a relevant discipline
        Sound knowledge of the specific industry associated with the post
        Motivation and enthusiasm for working with 14 to 19 year olds
