Are you a plumbing technician looking for a new challenge? You will build strong, positive working relationships with a supportive and collaborative team and professional services that share the common goal of providing a meaningful educational experience.

You will have excellent organisational and time-management skills and be able to prioritise work effectively to meet objectives and deadlines. You will be comfortable with and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. You will be able to plan and prioritise your schedule of work to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills and be happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared goals.

This post would contribute to the college's contribution to the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) by embracing low-carbon technology in the field.

Job Overview

As a vital member of our technical support staff, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plumbing workshop facilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plumbing, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to our students.

You will ensure a safe environment for teaching and learning, which meets health and safety requirements and demonstrates best practice.

All staff have a responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

    Qualifications

    Essential Desirable
    Level 3 Vocational qualification in a related area Level 4 vocational qualification in a related area
    English, Maths, and Science at Level 2 (GCSE A* to C or equivalent) First Aid qualification
    Intermediate Health & Safety
    Teaching, assessing or training qualification

    Experience

    Essential Desirable
    Recent experience of working in relevant industrial/commercial environments for at least 3 years Recent experience within an FE/HE environment
    Experience of working in an industrial/commercial Engineering environment

    Knowledge & Skills

    Essential Desirable
    Effective communication skills Capable use of IT to promote teaching and monitor learning
    Good general knowledge of health and safety at work in the relevant vocational environment Ability to provide high-quality pastoral care to learners
    Ability to provide coaching and support to learners Good general knowledge of health and safety at work in an educational and vocational environment
    Strong current technical knowledge and skills in plumbing Comprehensive current technical knowledge and skills commensurate with the required vocational delivery
    Motivation and enthusiasm for working with 14 to 19 year olds
