They will be comfortable with, and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. Job Overview

To prepare, cook and serve food for the students and staff in the café at our Arts & Media Campus. This includes catering for all aspects of food preparation and production in an environment that meets health, safety, and hygiene guidelines.

This is a position for an integral member of the canteen team who will be expected to help with basic food and beverage preparation and cooking, and around the kitchen generally, as directed by the Catering Manager.

All staff are responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

    What we're looking for

    Qualifications

    Essential Desirable
    Basic Food Hygiene Qualification Intermediate Food Hygiene
    NVQ 2 in Cookery or equivalent

    Experience

    Essential Desirable
    Competent with intermediate cookery skills at least to Level 3 Vending experience
    At least 3 years previous experience of working in a kitchen environment Experience of student and staff requirements
    Worked in excellent catering establishments Cash handling and use of till

    Knowledge & Skills

    Good timekeeping Competent user of IT – especially Microsoft Office package
    Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
    Able to maintain accurate records such as orders and cash
