The successful candidate(s) will have experience delivering teaching and learning of the highest quality. They will be able to plan and prioritise their own schedule of work to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills, and be happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.

The successful candidates will themselves be educated to at least Level 4 and capable of sharing their knowledge with our apprentices in an engaging and informative manner that benefits their passion for the subject. The role will be to plan, coordinate, assess and review the learning activities associated with the apprentice programmes in the classroom and the workplace and to provide guidance and mentoring for apprentices, with a particular emphasis on Apprenticeship and Work Based Learning programmes.

The job will entail working primarily with apprentices in the North of Cumbria (Carlisle area) by delivering Level 2 and Level 3 Apprenticeships in Adult Care. Attendance at Kendal College sites however on other days will be required.

Teaching experience is desirable, but we are looking for someone who is confident in sharing their experience and knowledge with our students. We would support you in gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work with us.

      What we're looking for

      Qualifications

      Essential Desirable
      Qualification Level 3 or above in adult care A recognised teaching qualification or be willing to obtain within 2 years of appointment
      English, Maths, and Science at Level 2 (GCSE A* to C or equivalent) Assessor qualification – D32/32, A1 or equivalent
      Verifier Award (IQA) either D34, V1 or equivalent (or be willing to obtain within 2 years of appointment)

      Experience

      Essential Desirable
      Vocational experience of working in the care industry industry Recent experience of teaching in an FE/HE environment
      Delivery of NVQ in the workplace or college environment

      Knowledge & Skills

      Essential Desirable
      The ability to travel to apprentices’ workplaces Full driving licence
      Good interpersonal and communication skills Working knowledge of NVQ processes
      Suitable character for working with children and vulnerable adults
      Comprehensive current technical knowledge and skills commensurate with the vocational context of this role
      Good knowledge of Health and Safety at work in an educational and vocational environment
