The successful candidate(s) will lead and promote the college's Employer Engagement and Apprenticeship function, contributing to strategic plans and best practices and developing business processes that link the college's curriculum teams and employers.

They will build strong, positive working relationships with a supportive and collaborative team and professional services that share the goal of providing a meaningful educational experience.

They will have excellent organisational and time-management skills and can prioritise work effectively to meet objectives and deadlines. They will be comfortable with and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. They will be able to plan and prioritise their own schedule of work to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills, and be happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.

Job Overview

  • To develop the college’s relationships with local businesses and organisations and ensure that the college meets local, regional and national skills needs.
  • To lead the development of the college’s apprenticeship provision, ensuring that we respond to local business training requirements and meet apprenticeship income and contribution KPIs.
  • To manage key contracts for large employers with several apprentices.
  • To manage a team of Apprenticeship Facilitators.
  • To provide oversight of the college’s apprenticeships internally commissioned to curriculum teams.
  • Leading the liaison with our College Information Systems team (CIS) to support effective systems and processes in the Apprenticeship and Employer Engagement programmes.
  • Monitoring performance using audits and dealing with day-to-day queries from Apprenticeship Facilitators.
  • To manage and develop the college's CRM system to interface with employers, CIS, and curriculum under the director's direction responsible for apprenticeships. To play a full role in providing clean and audit-compliant information for and with the CIS team involved with this provision.

    What we're looking for

    Qualifications

    Essential Desirable
    Level 3 qualification Management / Team Leading Qualification
    English, Maths, and Science at Level 2 (GCSE A* to C or equivalent)
    Management training or the ability to complete it within 2 years

    Experience

    Essential Desirable
    Understanding of business development work and meeting income-related targets Delivery of work-based training in workplace or college environment
    Working with external and internal stakeholders and/or contract holders Undertaking training needs analysis
    Effective client relationship management Planning training needs plans for large organisations
    Management or team leading experience in a directly related field
    Motivating and mentoring other staff
    Experience of working with apprentices and their employers
    System and business process development and implementation

    Knowledge & Skills

    Essential Desirable
    Confidence in maximising relationships with senior leaders and managers of other organisations Knowledge of apprenticeship funding rules
    Excellent customer relationship skills Working understanding of salesforce-based CRM, including its design
    Understand employers training needs Understand and advocate the benefits of training to a wide range of organisations
    Excellent organisational skills
    Excellent IT skills within office and customer relationship packages
    Suitable character for working with children and vulnerable adults
