Course Overview
The qualification is for current Kendal College students ONLY.
This qualification will appeal to those who use a forklift as part of their work in agriculture, horticulture or distribution and warehousing. It has been developed to cover the "basic training" requirements of the Approved Code of Practice for Rider Operated Forklift Trucks. This does not replace any legal requirement for a driving licence.
Candidates can choose the type of forklift for assessment: Rough Terrain Masted Forklift, Counter-balance Forklift or Telescopic Forklift. The assessment covers the associated differences between use, operation and maintenance of the machines, pre-use maintenance and safety checks, recognition of controls and instruments.
