Course Overview

T-Levels bring together academic knowledge with practical experience.

The course will give you the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into this sector.

T-Level summary:
- Two-year courses
- Equivalent to 3 A-Levels
- Worth up to 168 UCAS points (Triple Distinction*).
- Created alongside employers
- Includes an extended industry placement (315 hours minimum)
- Supports progression into university and a career in the industry

The T-Level in Media, Broadcast & Production is a level 3 course that combines skills development with work experience. It will equip students to gain an apprenticeship, work within the media or study media or a media-related course at degree-level. T-Levels are new, two-year technical study programmes. The media, broadcast and production T-Level is designed with the needs of employers in mind. In 2021, 6 billion pounds was spent on film and TV production in the UK, and people with the right creative and technical skills are currently in high demand.

You must complete an industrial placement of at least 315 hours (45 days). This will provide you with an invaluable insight into the demands of working within the creative media industries and will equip you with professional skills such as undertaking research, generating ideas, communicating ideas, developing ideas working collaboratively with others and developing your reflective practice. You will also gain essential skills transferrable to any chosen route after college.

Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:
-The creative economy
- The individual in the creative industries
- Cultural context and vocabulary
- Audience and consumer needs
- Legal and regulatory requirements
- Professional standards and conduct in the workplace
- Equality, diversity and inclusion requirements
- Research skills
- Project methodology and administration continued professional development

Entry Requirements

This qualification is designed for students aged 16-18.

5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including Maths and English at grade 5 or above), or a level 2 diploma or NVQ in a related field with merit or distinction.

Applicants will also need to attend an interview to assess suitability for the course.

After Your Course

After gaining a T-Level qualification, you can progress to university or start your professional career. It will also give students a route into various careers within the sector.

The current full-time & degree-level fee information is related to the 2024/25 academic year.

Level 3-6 Courses

Advanced Learning Loans are available for students aged 19 or over and studying eligible level 3, 4, 5 & 6 courses. If you are on an Access course, the loan will be written off if you complete a degree.

You may qualify for financial support to cover the cost of a Level 3 qualification if you do not already have a Level 3 qualification (this will depend on the course & your age on 31/08/24).

A-Levels

The fees displayed are for the one-year AS-Level course. If you would like to progress onto the full A-Level, please get in touch with us for the cost of the second year, as it will be different.

16-18 year olds

There are no course fees if you were aged 16-18 on 31/08/24 and are not studying at another institution.
