I wanted to go into the trade.
Why did you choose Kendal College?
It is the closest and a nice college. It is a good site with a friendly atmosphere. I checked college out at Open Day.
Is college like you had expected? If not, why?
Ye. It is laid back and people are treated with respect.
What do you most enjoy about College life?
Its only 3 days a week. The timetable is good, teachers are nice, adequate facilities and nice food.
What opportunities have you had as a student at college?
We have been on Trips like the NCN trip and got help with finding work experience.
What is the teaching style like on your course?
The tutors are good, even though I have had a change in tutors. We do theory work at the beginning of the week and practical on Fridays.
Can you describe a typical day at College?
We have a 9am start, go to class to do PSD then theory or practical work. Sometimes we have multiple choice exams.
How would you describe your college experience so far?
Fairly smooth with an enjoyable course but still have to do revision work.
What are you hoping to do after College?
I have gained an Apprenticeship, working 5 days a week including college one day.
What facilities do you use regularly at college?
Café, Reception Area.
If you could give one piece of advice to people considering College, what would it be?
Try and get work experience before applying for your course it gives you a good idea of the trade.
