Why did you choose this course?
I enjoyed Resistant Materials at school, especially Wood Skills so this seemed a good choice.

Why did you choose Kendal College?
Its local and my sister attends and recommended it.

Is College like you had expected. If not, why?
Yes, it is what I expected, more time to do my own work and in a more mature environment.

What do you most enjoy about College life?
The timetable is good and fits around my part-time job.

What opportunities have you had as a student at the College?
I was nominated as Class Rep. We went on an NCS trip and meet new people doing likewise trades which I found useful.

What is the teaching style like on your course?
After instruction by the tutor we can then put things into practice ourselves. The tutors are there to support us.

Can you describe a typical day at College?
I arrive around 9am in the workshop and get safety equipment out. We then do Practical work, break, Practical, lunch then theory in classroom finishing between 4-5pm.

How would you describe your College experience so far?
Comfortable, with the freedom to manage my own workload. Staff and tutors are friendly and helpful. There is all the equipment, machines and tools that we need and I feel safe in college.

What are you hoping to do after College?
Progress to Level 3 Site Joinery then hopefully into employment.

What facilities do you use regularly at the College?
Library, café, workshop and Wifi.

If you could give one piece of advice to people considering College, what would it be?
Do something you want to do and enjoy, not what your mates do.
