I completed Level 2 at the College and wanted to progress.
Why did you choose Kendal College?
Kendal College has an excellent reputation for Hospitality and Catering.
Is College like you had expected. If not, why?
Yes, as expected.
What do you most enjoy about College life?
I like working with Graeme my tutor, and the college’s restaurant is a really good facility.
What opportunities have you had as a student at the College?
I have had a job offer from a Michelin Star restaurant.
What is the teaching style like on your course?
It’s a practical style including setting up the restaurant. Theory work is really well supported by Graeme our tutor who has helped me throughout the course.
Can you describe a typical day at College?
We have an English lesson before lunch, then see the tutor for a catch up on coursework before prepping for evening service.
How would you describe your College experience so far?
I really enjoy the company of the tutors and students.
What are you hoping to do after College?
Further progression within my current job role in hospitality.
What facilities do you use regularly at the College?
The University Hub is a really good facility for getting work done.
If you could give one piece of advice to people considering College, what would it be?
Try and get the best possible grades you can at GCSE so you don’t have to do English and Maths.
