Why did you choose this course?
I love animals and pets and have always been interested in working with them. This course has exotic animals as well.

Why did you choose Kendal College?
I heard about loads of people were coming here but I had not heard of it before. So I visited Kendal College and Myerscough College and preferred it here. I really like my course.

What is the teaching style like on your course?
It’s laid back, we do assignments and practical’s, it’s really good. We work in groups and independently. We get enough support, there is always someone there to go to for help. I like the facilities of the ARC, it’s like a little rescue centre. I’m looking forward to watching the operations on the animals. I am confident in handling the exotic animals we have. The bearded dragons and geckos are not that scary, and we are shown how to handle the animals properly, I feel more confident, I would never have touched a tarantula before, but I would now!

How would you describe your College experience so far?
We’ll have work experience in the second year and I’m looking to get a place early. I visit my sister's farm regularly and work with the animals. My course has helped me increase my confidence handling the larger animals on the farm.

What are you hoping to do after College?
I’d like to get a job as an Animal Welfare Officer or to go to university.
