Why did you choose this course?
Hair and Beauty is something I have always been interested in, and I liked what the course had to offer. I didn’t come to an open day but I had friends who had come to college and done it, and when I came to college to do my maths and English they told me about this course as well.
Why did you choose Kendal College?
When I came for an interview, I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the college and the way the course was taught, and it was local to me.
What do you most enjoy about College life?
I enjoy my course.
What is the teaching style like on your course?
Balanced between practical and theory work, I enjoy this approach. Tutors help if you get stuck with theory work and they email you notes every week which you can use for revision. In theory they make it very fun in a group using sheets etc. The theory can help prepare you for practical work.
Can you describe a typical day at College?
Theory first and practical after. We have a break between. Then lunch and then maths and English. Attend 3 days a week.
How would you describe your College experience so far?
We have done manicures and pedicures, waxing and facials and we are just going on to make up now. It’s been very interesting.
