Why did you choose this course?
I came on this course as it gave me experience in a variety of trades, to give me an idea of what to do next year.

Is College like you had expected. If not, why?
It’s a lot better than at school, it’s a big set up but I like the environment.

What do you most enjoy about College life?
The trade experience and the knowledge to help me when I’m older.

What opportunities have you had as a student at the College?
This year I went for an electrical apprenticeship trial and I have a full-time apprenticeship sorted for next year with LB Joinery.

What’s the course like?
We look at windows, doors, staircases, which can be complicated. The machines do all the calculations and we do the finishing off. The tutor is good as he makes it quite easy to understand and he got me the opportunity to work where I am now.

Wednesday is theory in the morning and practical in the afternoon. Thursday & Friday is practical all day. I also do English & Maths.

How would you describe your College experience so far?
I’ve enjoyed it definitely, I recommend it to people who are not sure what to do after school, I tell them to come here, definitely.

What are you hoping to do after College?
An apprenticeship for 2 or 3 years. I need to pass maths and then it’s guaranteed.
