Why did you choose an Apprenticeship through Kendal College?
When I left school, I went straight into my Business Apprenticeship, which I think is a great option if you want to start working straight away. I completed my Apprenticeship in about 18 months and then covid began! Once I had finished the course, we were still in lock down which gave me time to
think about what I wanted to do next. I decided to set up my own clothing brand. Whist I was doing
this, I had a quite a few friends and family members ask if I could make their businesses uniforms
with the equipment I had bought for my clothing brand, so I started to do that on the side. A few months later, in December 2022, I decided to start my own business, ‘Lakes Embroidery’, so I bought
my first machine and went part time at my then-current job. By August 2023, I had three machines
and went full time! We are now completing orders for businesses, clubs and colleges all over the
North of England- including Kendal College!
What are your most memorable moments of College?
My most memorable moments at Kendal College include meeting all the different people who I am still friends with today.
What advice would you give potential students considering studying an Apprenticeship through Kendal?
The best advice I would give to potential/current students would be to definitely look into Apprenticeships, as well as the full-time courses.
