Giuseppe studied Film Production with us at Kendal College and now owns his own successful Northern-based film production Company- Film on the Brain.
I've worked in cafes, restaurants and as a civil servant, before working as a freelance filmmaker, which led on to me setting up my own company – Film on the Brain. I am currently a filmmaker, producing creative promotional content for businesses, as well as documentaries and social media campaigns.
What did you enjoy most about College? What skills did you learn?
I enjoyed the freedom, the variety and the fact that I got to do what I love. College taught me how to work collaboratively as part of a bigger team. I also learnt how to manage my workflow and juggle different projects effectively whilst staying on track. I also developed a range of technical skills and knowledge that is vital in what I do today, such as how to light a scene, rules of composition, and the importance of good audio.
What would you say is the best thing about studying at Kendal College?
Kendal College offers students the freedom to explore what they want to pursue. Whether you have an idea of what you want to do or not, the college has the resources to help, with amazing equipment & facilities, and staff with years of experience in their respective industries. Studying at the college is a chance to continue your education in a more mature environment; everyone is on a first-name basis, and everyone is treated equally - there is no barrier between student and tutor.
How's running your own business going?
Great! My business partner and I continue to look at ways in which we can expand our company. We're already beginning to branch out into different areas and genres of film, with a view to obtaining funding for larger film projects and workshops. We have even helped the college to create various short films for their marketing department!
