Unlocking Potential - Transforming Lives - Creating Bright Futures

Our Engineering department offers a dedicated workshop boasting industry-standard centre lathes, CNC systems, 3D printers, and a range of computer facilities with the latest 2D/3D CAD software.

Many of our students go on to university or other degree-level studies in mechatronics, energy, motorsports, and aeronautics. Just as many secure apprenticeships with local and national employers, including Gilkes and BAE Systems, and go on to study for a Higher National Diploma.

Our engineering facilities are just as impressive as the progression routes achieved by students. The flagship £1.9m Engineering, Science & Technology Centre houses CNC (computer numerically controlled) machines from Haas, alongside numerous manual lathes – a setup that is the same or better standard than in the workplace. There’s also a dedicated science laboratory, sustainable energy workshop, access to 3D printers, the latest CAD suite systems, material testing machines, and much more.

The successful candidate will join our experienced team, which has an excellent reputation in the industry and strong links with local businesses that rely on the college to meet their current and future business needs.

The successful candidates will build strong, positive working relationships with a supportive and collaborative team of educators and professional services who share the goal of providing a meaningful educational experience.

They will have excellent organisational and time-management skills and be able to prioritise work effectively to meet objectives and deadlines. They will be comfortable with, and proactively adapt to rapid changes in educational trends within the sector. They will be able to plan and prioritise their own schedule of work to achieve objectives, have strong IT skills and happy to be part of a close-knit team with shared objectives.

The successful candidates will themselves be educated to at least Level 4 and capable of sharing their knowledge and experience with our students in an engaging and informative manner that benefits their passion for the subject.

This post would contribute to the college's contribution to the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) by embracing low-carbon technology in the field.

Teaching experience is desirable; however, we are looking for someone who is confident in sharing their experience and knowledge with our students. We would provide support for gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work with us.
