Why did you choose Kendal College?
I started Electrical Engineering at Furness College but then saw this College did Forensic Science, which I have always been interested in. This subject is something I preferred so I applied and Sarah made it sound more interesting than I thought it would be, which persuaded me to come here.

I live in Ulverston (45-60 mins on the bus) but the distance does not have any impact on my learning at College.

Is College like you had expected. If not, why?
Yes, it is, it’s very social, I’ve made a lot of new friends here and I’ve enjoyed it so far.

Can you describe a typical day at College?
We study subjects like maths, statistics, science (such as fundamentals of science, working in the science industry, and chemistry), forensic photography, VEGA forensic evidence (using and analysing it), criminology (the study of criminals and crime) - we cover a lot of stuff! It’s all interesting. I wasn’t a big fan of science at school but it’s interesting now. The workload is fine, no issues, I get enough time to complete the work and get advance notification of when work needs to be handed in. I use the student dashboard which has deadlines and information. All the tutors are supportive, I would definitely go to them if I needed help.

What are you hoping to do after College?
University – criminology possibly. This is my favourite subject at the moment.

I’m very glad I made the decision to study here!
