Why did you choose this course?
I did Performing Arts first then moved to Music after.

Why did you choose Kendal College?
I never thought of coming to college after Y11. A friend asked me to come to KC open day with her and thought I am coming here. I will always remember a lad was singing and playing the guitar in the canteen it was such a nice atmosphere. Everyone is so nice to each other and there is no hassle, it’s like a big family.

What do you most enjoy about College life?
I definitely like performing, it’s one of my favourites, I like putting myself to a challenge so when I’m singing I like to challenge my voice. Its boosted my confidence as I have had positive feedback for my singing. The food is good and all my mates are here, I’ve made friends with everyone. We all meet up and we can go out if we want to. The tutors are really nice as well, they are from the industry and can give you advice and you can’t argue with them because they know what they are talking about.

What opportunities have you had as a student at the College?
I did my solo performance and put it on the internet and someone asked if they could be my agent and I got to do some recordings and send them off. This was a good opportunity which boosted my confidence. My work experience is coming up.

What are you hoping to do after College?
I want to get my band sorted; we have a gig in September and want to get more gigs and become a famous singer. I would come back to L3 later as I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

If you could give one piece of advice to people considering College, what would it be?
Stick to your written work and learning your songs, don’t let other band members down, be a leader in your band. Make sure everyone knows what is going on. Teamwork is most important in your band. If you don’t work as a team it doesn’t work at all and at the gig is embarrassing. Even though you might not like it, get it done even if you have to retake Maths and English just get it done. Put everything you have got into it; be prepared to work and work hard to achieve your goals or in the future, it will just haunt you.
