The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy (QCF) is a preparation for work qualification that has been designed to prepare you for a career as an Aromatherapist.

This qualification will develop your knowledge and understanding of the principles and business practice for complementary therapies. Furthermore, you will learn about anatomy, physiology and pathology for complementary therapies.

You will also develop your understanding and practical skills to competently provide aromatherapy services. You may also choose to complete an additional unit which will develop your knowledge and understanding of healthy eating and wellbeing for the complementary therapy client. This is a practitioner level qualification.

The course will consist of practical and theory lectures and demonstrations, workshops and discussions and you will learn about business practice, principles and practice for complementary therapies, anatomy and physiology and aromatherapy.

This is an assessment based programme for both the practical and theory elements of the course. You will assemble a portfolio of evidence from your case studies and assignments and you will also be assessed by practical demonstration.

The Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry and Bench Joinery has been designed to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of learners, enabling them to work within their chosen craft. You will be given a choice of which career route you wish to take on induction (Bench or Site). Skills gained on the course can be transferable to other trade areas include: measuring and application of number, problem solving skills and communicating with different people within a working environment.

The Construction department regularly competes in the construction skills competition with some very promising wins and most recently a national finalist. The facilities are state of the art and the teaching staffs have a combined knowledge of nearly 50 years in the local area ranging from site and bench joinery to boat building!

The programme includes professional practice over two years to include the full age range of children's settings. You will spend two days in placement and three days in college each week. This programme is particularly useful if you want to work as a teaching assistant or to study for a teaching degree.
