Alysia Parkin

Hair & Beauty Therapy Coordinator & Senior Lecturer

Alysia teaches a wide range of courses in Beauty Therapy, Nail Technology and Salon Management and has lots of experience in the industry, including owning her own salon for 15 years. She is passionate about beauty therapy and loves passing her knowledge onto others and seeing her student’s confidence grow each week. She is able to express her creativity in her Nail Technology classes and enjoys encouraging students to do the same.

Angela Clee

Senior Beauty Lecturer & Advanced Practitioner for Hair & Beauty

Angela teaches Level 1 to Level 4 in Beauty Therapy. Since 1993 she has worked in a number of positions within the sector, including owning a successful salon franchise with a large national company before returning to the College to teach. She really enjoys seeing her students realise their potential and feels that the Beauty Industry is an exciting industry to be part of as it is always changing and developing.

Beauty Therapy Lecturer

I have a great passion for the industry and a thirst for self-development. I still work at the 4* Spa where I meet and treat clients from around the world and at the Beauty & Aesthetic salon in Kendal where I provide treatments to local customers.

The spectrum of the clientele and a variety of services keeps me abreast of the latest industry developments, trends, client needs and also employers’ expectations. This experience enables me to provide the essential training for our students (Level 1 up to Level 4), and to assist them in developing necessary skills needed to embark on a glowing career within the beauty industry.

Emily is passionate about hairdressing and feels that the industry is always evolving with new styles, techniques and products. Emily wants her students to feel the same way she did when she was first introduced to the industry and passes on her passion for her work.

Christopher Costello

Hair Technician

Christopher is an ex-student turned employee of The Retreat Kendal College. Having been working in the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry since 2005 totalling so far 12+ years Christopher has gained qualifications in a variety of areas, these include Hairdressing to a Level 3 standard, Complimentary and Holistic Massage Therapy, Reiki Therapy and Crystal Therapy.

At The Retreat Christopher’s’ role as a Hair Technician predominantly is to support both students and staff in their development and learning at the college, whilst also allowing him to ensure the most effective use of all resources available to The Retreat and to Kendal College. Christopher’s role also brings with it the chance to keep the salon environment modern with the introduction of new products, techniques and open days both at the college and away at The Wella academies in both London and Manchester.

As a Hair Technician Christopher, on a daily basis, facilitates the development of our talented young students, promoting their growth as individuals and their skills as hairdressers, whilst working alongside our highly trained Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Tutors.
