Are you an experienced Maths Lecturer looking for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity for a highly competent and well-qualified candidate to join us as a Maths Lecturer within our excellent Maths team has arisen.

Ideally, with experience in Level 3 and/or A Level Maths, the successful candidate will be capable of sharing their knowledge with our students in an engaging and informative manner. As a Lecturer, the successful candidate would have access to our generous holiday and pension schemes alongside the possibility of career development opportunities.

You will provide inspirational support and guidance to students on our wide variety of Maths courses, taking the lead on modules related to your specialist areas. The Maths team runs a variety of courses, from Functional Skills to GCSE and A-Level Maths, with some additional support for Maths modules in Engineering and other STEM courses. This cross-subject collaboration would provide you with the potential to support other STEM-related areas, should you have the requisite skills.

A formal teaching qualification is desirable, but we seek someone confident in sharing their experience and knowledge with our students. We would support you in gaining a formal teaching qualification alongside your work with us.

Job Overview

  • Teaching: Deliver engaging and effective lessons across a variety of curriculum disciplines.
  • Curriculum Development: Lead the development of specific subjects within the curriculum, ensuring content is current and industry-relevant.
  • Research & Consultancy: Engage in significant research and consultancy activities to enhance the academic and practical learning experience.
  • Course Verification & Leadership: Oversee course verification processes, coordinate course teams, and provide leadership to ensure high education standards.
  • Impactful Role: Play a crucial role in shaping the future of the related industry by mentoring and educating the next generation of skilled professionals.
  • Classroom Management: To ensure student retention and achievement targets are met. Provide a safe and healthy environment in which to work and learn. Ensure that adequate resources and materials are provided to enhance learning, thereby enriching the opportunity and experience of learners.

    What we're looking for

    Qualifications

    Essential Desirable
    A recognised teaching qualification Assessor Award
    Level 3 Vocational qualification A degree or equivalent qualification in the related discipline
    English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE A* to C or equivalent)

    Experience

    Essential Desirable
    Experience of working with learners with additional learning needs Recent experience of teaching in an FE/HE environment

    Effective use of ILT to promote teaching and learning and monitor learning
    Good general knowledge of health and safety at work in an educational and the relevant vocational environment
