This is a position for an integral member of the canteen team who will be expected to help with basic food and beverage preparation and cooking and generally around the kitchen, as directed by the catering manager.

You will prepare, cook and serve food for the students and staff in the college café at our Milnthorpe Road Campus. This includes catering for all aspects of food preparation and production in an environment that meets health, safety, and hygiene guidelines.

All staff are responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.

What we're looking for

Qualifications

Essential Desirable
Basis Food Hygiene qualification Intermediate food hygiene
NVQ 2 in cookery or equivalent

Experience

Essential Desirable
Vending experience
Experience of student and staff requirements
Cash handling and use of till
Competent with intermediate cookery skills
At least 3 years previous experience of working in a kitchen environment
Worked in excellent catering establishments

Knowledge & Skills

Essential Desirable
Good timekeeping Driving licence and own transport
Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative
Able to maintain accurate records such as orders and cash
Impeccable food and hygiene standards
Strong customer focus
