Kendal College is seeking a reliable and motivated Estates Assistant to join the Estates team at the college.

Demonstrating a high standard of dedication, you will help to maintain the college’s high standards of repair, maintenance and cleanliness of the college’s overall estates. You must have a demonstrable ability to carry out the necessary DIY and maintenance that the role requires in a very busy environment. This role has a variety of duties that will include general portering assistance, caretaking duties, locking up of the campus and carrying out minor repairs & maintenance.

What we're looking for


Essential Desirable
First Aid certificate – or willingness to obtain Grade 4 (C) in English and Maths
Fire warden training
Manual handling certificate
Fork lift truck driver certificate
Certificate(s) in dealing with/managing people

Experience of working in a similar position

Knowledge & Skills

Essential Desirable
Well presented and able to communicate with staff and students at all levels
Ability to use initiative and be assertive in the appropriate situation
Demonstrate ability to carry out DIY and maintenance
Full clean driving license
