The Computing department of Kendal College offers dedicated rooms to digital design and software development, containing dual monitor, professionally specified workstations. The three members of staff who teach on the course have over 60 years of combined industry experience, working in sectors such as telecommunications, networking, hardware consultancy, games design, and graphics products and software.

Course Overview

T-Levels, what you need to know:
- Two-year courses
- Equivalent to 3 A-Levels
- Created alongside employers
- Include an extended industry placement (315 hours minimum)
- Attracts UCAS points
- Supports progression into a skilled occupation; higher or degree level apprenticeships; higher level technical study, including university

T Level technical qualification in Digital Support Services (level 3)
T Level Technical Qualification in Digital Business Services (level 3)

These technical qualifications are split into 2 component parts.

Core component:
The knowledge and underpinning concepts, theories and principles as well as core skills for the digital sector.

The core element includes the following: business context, culture, data, digital analysis, digital environments, diversity and inclusion, learning, legislation, planning, security, testing, tools.

Occupational specialisms:
- digital infrastructure
- network cabling
- digital support
- data technician (Business Services only)

Students will only complete one occupational specialism.

The occupational specialisms provide students with knowledge and skills required to enter employment or further study in the specific occupational area.

This qualification is assessed by external examinations for the core components and the employer set project. The occupational specialism is assessed by synoptic assignments.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE's including English and Maths at 6 and above.

Alternatively a Level 2 vocational qualification or equivalent in a related subject would be considered. GCSE in English and Maths at 6 and above required alongside.

Costs: Trips (optional) and travel to placement costs.

After Your Course

This technical qualification focuses on the development of knowledge and skills needed for working in the digital support/business services industry, which will prepare learners to enter the industry through employment or as an Apprentice.

Furthermore, the completion of this qualification gives the learner the opportunity to progress onto university & degree-level courses.



The fee displayed is the course fee. Course fees are per year for full-time & degree-level courses, and per course for part-time courses.

There may be other costs associated with this course e.g. kit, equipment, books, trips etc. Financial support may be available to support you with these. See the Student Money pages for more information.

Courses Fees

The current full-time & degree-level fee information is related to the 2021/22 academic year and is subject to change before the start of the course. Fees for 2022/23 will be updated in the Spring Term 2022. There may also be additional costs associated with the course.

Level 3-6 Courses

Advanced Learning Loans are available for students aged 19 or over and studying an eligible Level 3/4/5 and 6 Course. If you are on an Access course, the loan will be written off if you complete a degree.

You may qualify for financial support to cover the cost of a Level 3 qualification if you do not already have a Level 3 qualification (this will depend on the course & your age on 31/08/21).

The fees displayed are for the 1-year AS-Level course. If you would like to progress onto the full A-Level, please contact us for the cost of the second year as it will be different.

16-18 year olds

There are no course fees if you were aged 16-18 on 31/08/21, and are not studying at another institution.
