Course Overview
This course is taught by Clare Welch. Clare has had a long career in the UK and overseas fashion industry. She has significant skills working with textiles and clothing and is a talented sewing machine expert.
You will learn:
-How to thread a machine and how to wind a bobbin
- How to select the correct tension
- How to solve common problems and work safely
- How to sew straight seams and finish them
- Gain knowledge of using different machine feet to create more unusual effects
Clare will deliver the course through practical demonstrations providing the opportunity to ask questions and take notes. You will then be observed and supported practicing the techniques covered in each session. There is no formal assessment or qualification linked to this course.
Materials and threads will be provided for you to use.
Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for complete beginners or those who have some knowledge of sewing and using a sewing machine.

This course is not funded by the government and is full cost. As such, the course is the price stated for all students. If you are paying for your course, there may be the option to pay by instalments if the course fees are over £200 and the course duration is 15 weeks or more.
