Course Overview

Local artist Annie Coxey, will introduce you to the basics of felt making during this fun 4-week introduction. You will investigate both 2D and 3D felt making techniques which will support the creation of a series of experimental pieces. You will learn how to create various textures using different fibres and materials and explore embellishment techniques such as hand and machine stitch.

On completing the course you will be confident in using a range of felt making techniques and have a small collection of felted samples to take away.

The course will allow for the opportunity to develop skills working within a specialist art studio and using specialist equipment to felt pieces.

This course is a non-assessed training programme, there is no requirement for you to produce a portfolio of work. Certification for participation can be provided on request.

Fees

£100.00

Course fees are per year. The current fee information is related to the 2018/19 academic year and is subject to change before the start of the course. Fees for 2019/20 will be updated in the Spring Term. There may also be additional costs associated with the course.

This course is not funded by the government and is full cost. As such, the course is the price stated for all students. If you are paying for your course, there may be the option to pay by instalments if the course fees are over £200 and the course duration is 15 weeks or more. Please speak to Student Services for more information on course fees.
