If you want to make your own sewing patterns but don't know where to begin, then this course is a great place to start. You will learn the process of making a pattern. It will help you to create a pattern block using precise measurements to make a sewing pattern. You can add your own style details to a pattern and enjoy what you can create for yourself.
Pattern Cutting is a craft associated with Clothing Design. Creativity and design flair are used by fashion designers and pattern cutters to produce beautiful clothes. On this Pattern Cutting Course you will gain an understanding of how body measurements are used to create a Basic Block. You will learn how to adapt the Pattern Block to create a specific pattern by incorporating style detail.
You will learn:
- How to produce a bodice block, sleeve block and skirt blocks
- How to move darts and add style detail such as pleats, panels and gathers
- How to create a collar, cuff waistband and facing
Clare will deliver the course through practical demonstrations providing the opportunity to ask questions and take notes. You will then be observed and supported practicing the techniques covered in each session. There is no formal assessment or qualification linked to this course.
Course materials will be provided for you to use in class.
This vocational six week course gives an insight for those who wish to study for a formal qualification within the Clothing Industry. It will also suit you if you want to develop your personal creative skills further.
