You will study Advanced Bookkeeping, Final Accounts Preparation, Management Accounting and Indirect Tax (VAT). Each unit is assessed by a computer-based exam followed by a synoptic exam (which also includes Ethics and Spreadsheets) at the end of the course.
Classes include lectures supported by hand-outs, tutor demonstration and worked examples. This is followed by students working practical examples to apply new techniques and practices in preparation for the exam and the workplace.

Entry requirements are the successful completion of the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting (Level 2) at a minimum of a merit grade or relevant industry experience. Please contact a tutor to discuss the most appropriate course for you.
You will need to register as a member of AAT to sit the exams. The cost of this is circa 130 pounds.
Your enrolment will include the first sitting for all exams. Any resit will be subject to a fee of circa 45 pounds.
If you are working in an accounting role, you may be eligible to undertake this qualification as part of a government funded apprenticeship.
After Your Course
There are wide and varied career opportunities for AAT students including accountant or assistant accountant, finance assistant, payroll clerk, credit controller and bookkeeper. Accounting is also a useful skill for someone in a general business management role. This course is also suitable for someone who is looking to undertake the bookkeeping for a family business. For those wishing to progress to university, the course attracts UCAS points.
On successful completion of AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting (Level 3), there is the opportunity to progress to AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4).
The fee displayed is the course fee. Course fees are per year for full-time courses and per course for part-time courses.

The current full-time & degree-level fee information is related to the 2021/22 academic year and is subject to change before the start of the course. Fees for 2022/23 will be updated in the Spring Term 2022. There may also be additional costs associated with the course.
Level 3-6 Courses
Advanced Learning Loans are available for students aged 19 or over and studying an eligible Level 3/4/5 and 6 Course. If you are on an Access course, the loan will be written off if you complete a degree.
You may qualify for financial support to cover the cost of a Level 3 qualification if you do not already have a Level 3 qualification (this will depend on the course & your age on 31/08/21).

The fees displayed are for the 1-year AS-Level course. If you would like to progress onto the full A-Level, please contact us for the cost of the second year as it will be different.
16-18 year olds
There are no course fees if you were aged 16-18 on 31/08/22, and are not studying at another institution.
