What course did you study at Kendal College?
Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.

Why did you choose this course?
I started attending Kendal College when I was 14 as part of the school links programme. I came here 1 day per week for 2 years and gained a Level 1 Motor Vehicle qualification. I really enjoyed it and decided to progress to the full-time Level 2 course when I l left school.

Why did you decide to come to Kendal College?
It is close to home and I felt happy and confident here. My school links course enabled me to get to know my tutor and find my round the college and the motor vehicle workshop before I started my full-time course.

What is the teaching style like on your course?
My tutor will always go the extra mile to help me understand something if needed. He is really friendly and approachable, I can ask him anything. He explains things really well in both our theory and practical lessons.

Is College like you had expected. If not, why?
It is much better than I thought it would be. I have learnt so much because I can concentrate on one subject (cars and how to maintain and repair them) that I am interested in, rather than studying several subjects at the same time like I did at school.

What opportunities has College offered you as a student?
Alongside my course of study, which is fun I have been on a trip to the Autosport Show in Birmingham and the whole group went go-karting at Christmas.

What are you planning to do after College/what career are you hoping to pursue?
I have got an apprenticeship at a local garage and will start as soon as I leave college.

Would you recommend studying at Kendal College (and why)?
Yes because the facilities are brilliant and all the staff are really friendly. It is good to study with a group of people who are all interested in the same thing, you learn such a lot.

If you could give one piece of advice to people considering College, what would it be?
Start your future here it will give you a head start towards achieving your goals for the world of work.
