Course studied at Kendal College: I studied Film Production from 2014 to 2016

What was it like being a student at the College?
In a word, Amazing! I had the best two years of my life studying film. The tutors are incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and just genuinely lovely and the atmosphere is perfect for learning.

What are you doing now?
I’ll be starting my third year at Manchester Metropolitan University studying Film and Media Studies in September. I also work part-time for a phone company with a numerical name.

How did the College prepare you for what you’re doing now?
Massively. It put me yards ahead of many of my course mates due to the knowledge and skills I’d acquired.

What is the most enjoyable part of your course?
Getting to create and write screenplays, based on knowledge of theory I’ve acquired.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
Though I love writing film and will continue to do this hopefully for years to come, I’m currently applying to join the Army as an officer, so hopefully, I’ll be a Lieutenant in the British Army.

Would you recommend studying at Kendal College (and why)?
Yes, yes, yes. I literally couldn’t recommend anywhere more. The atmosphere is so relaxed, and the quality of teaching is incredibly high. You get what you want out of the course, and it prepares you to study H.E.

If you could give one piece of advice to people considering College, what would it be?
Do it. This ridiculous stereotype that going to college means your less intelligent is absurd. You get to do what you love, in a much more relaxed and less intense setting, and it’s still motivating and can lead to higher education prospects. If what you want to do and what you love can be achieved by doing a college course, DO IT!
