Based in our nursery classrooms, you will work with the class team to support pupils with classroom activities. You will have opportunities to work alongside experienced teachers and teaching assistants to organise and lead play activities that develop children’s knowledge, understanding, and skills.

During the day, you will work with the class team to support pupils with classroom activities. You will also have opportunities to work alongside experienced teachers and teaching assistants to organise and lead play activities that develop children's knowledge, understanding, and skills.
Time will also be spent supporting children during lunchtimes and in our extended school (Breakfast School, Club and After School Club).
Excellent communication and enthusiasm will be key in supporting all pupils to progress and achieve their potential. You will support all areas of the curriculum, which are differentiated to meet the needs of the pupils within the classroom. You will be required to assist with teacher administration and also accompany teaching staff and pupils on educational visits and other out-of-school activities.
You will also act as a role model for pupils and positively influence their behaviour at school. You must demonstrate maturity and excellence in all you do.
All of the below will be carried out under the guidance of experienced school practitioners:
- Develop good relationships with all of the children (ranging from 2 years to 5 years)
- Learn skills to be a practical Teaching Assistant
- Model appropriate positive behaviour with pupils
- Be confident communicating with parents, carers and other Early Years Providers and external agencies
- Work with small groups or individuals following the tteacher'splanning/direction
- Supervise small groups indoors and outdoors
- Make observations and assessments of the children and provide feedback to the class teacher
- Keep any information discussed in school confidential
- Follow the sschool'sChild Protection Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy
- Support children at lunchtime,including encouraging good table manners and healthy eating
- Support learning and care provision in the Before and After School Clubs,s including preparing snacks, leading play activities (indoors and outdoors) and communicating with parents
- To be a reliable member of the team
- Help create a stimulating environment for the children indoors and outdoors, for example, by guiding them in setting up role-playing areas and making displays.
- Have a professional attitude to all work and other members of staff
- Be willing to support children with personal care, e.g. toileting/dressing
- Drive down development by actively participating in mentor sessions
- Demonstrate a proactive approach, showing initiative and resilience to complete tasks
- teacher'seacher’s administration duties, including photocopying, organising/making resources
- Help on school educational visits / outdoor activities and follow all risk assessments
- Take part in school training as required
- Complete all coursework as required
