We are a modern, family-owned Garden Centre, hardware, DIY and pet supplies retailer within a lovely setting in the village of Flookburgh. Our recently established café is gaining an excellent reputation and is a welcome addition to our local community. Our talented staff produce exceptional quality food, served with care in a relaxing, welcoming environment.
What will the apprentice be doing?
A fantastic opportunity to become an Apprentice Chef in a busy café kitchen. From breakfast and lunch to Afternoon Tea, we serve a variety of freshly prepared meals and treats using excellent quality local produce. With support and guidance from our small team of talented chefs and bakers, you will gain the necessary skills in food preparation in a friendly family-run business to start your culinary career. Duties will include:
- Assist with the day-to-day running of the café
- Food/drink preparation and serving. Assist with creating menus/specials
- Baking cakes and traybakes
- Ordering and stock/waste control
- Receipt of food deliveries
- Washing pots, cutlery and equipment used
- Maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen/cafe
- Working within all food safety regulations
- Provide high-quality food with excellent customer service skills
- Effective time management and organisational skills
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will earn a level 2 Production Chef qualification and gain Functional Skills (if needed).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Successful completion of the apprenticeship will hopefully lead to permanent full-time employment with continued training and development.
