To assist and train to carry out service/manufacture/preparation of ICR mechanical field services equipment and materials offered by the company; onsite machining, Quick flange installation and composite repair & leak sealing services.

Hours of work:

37.5 hours per week.


£9,379.50 to £18,525.00. Wage to be decided upon appointment. This will depend on previous skills and experience.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and manufacture of any necessary components for the various service lines offered by the company
  • Learn to carry out and assist with pro-active breakdown-repairs/maintenance of portable machines on site or support in the workshop
  • Assist with managing all equipment/service requests from the ICR operations department
  • Carry out the manufacture of parts and components for support of site services, this will involve the use of static workshop machines and fabrication equipment.
  • Adhere to workshop safety standards and always comply with all HSEQ regulations and PPE requirements
  • Assist with Incident/Non-conformance report investigation regarding machine/equipment defects

What training will the apprentice take, and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Engineering Technician standard
  • Functional Skills (if required)
  • Training through the workplace and Kendal College

All apprentices will be required to achieve as a minimum:

  • An employer-approved Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
  • An employer-approved Level 3 Development Competence qualification
  • An employer-approved Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

A potential offer would be a permanent appointment as a Technician with ICR. This would be a fixed-term contract.
