Hours of work:

35 hours per week.


£8,754.20 to £17,290.00 pa. Wage to be agreed upon appointment.

The Leathes Head is an eleven-bedroom hotel with a Highly Recommended Michelin Red Book restaurant in the Borrowdale Valley.

What will the apprentice be doing?
  • Preparing ingredients
  • Assisting both the Head and Sous chefs
  • Being involved in all aspects of the production of food in the kitchen
  • Supporting breakfast and dinner service in an 11-bedroom hotel

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Production Chef apprenticeship standard, which includes:
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
    End-Point Assessment (EPA)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We foresee that there will be a permanent role at the end of the apprenticeship for the right candidate.

We can provide live-in accommodation in the hotel.
