We are a Family run business operating 2 Pubs, The Kings Arms at Stainton and the Sun Inn at Newton Reigny. The Businesses are run by Richard, Hilary, Adam and Lucy, With Adam managing the kitchens across both sites.

Richard has a strong level of input in the day to day running of the Kings Arms and Lucy is more involved in the sun and we have a good team of people who all work together to make both businesses run successfully.

The same values are evident in both pubs, we always aim to serve good quality, home-cooked food while the Sun has more of a restaurant feel about it the Kings Arms is more of a traditional pub.


We are seeking a Production Chef to join our busy team and assist with the preparation and production of high quality, home-cooked, traditional pub food as well as our seasonal restaurant menu.

We are a small family run business operating two pubs under one business and we are looking to add to our Kitchen team with a chef that will assist the head chefs with daily duties and lead some services.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be keen to learn and willing to adapt to fit into our motivated team
  • Take initiative and share responsibility for everyday kitchen duties
  • Enjoy working closely with others as part of a team, with a positive attitude and good communication skills
  • Be willing to work evening and/ or weekend shifts

Duties of the Chef will include:

  • Day to day preparation of food
  • Stock control and rotation
  • Planning and delivering new menus to a high standard
  • Having knowledge and understanding of food hygiene procedures

The candidate must be able to travel to work on time due to the vacancy being based in a rural location with limited public transport.

The candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills on the job and gain an understanding of costings and profit margins as well as the practicalities of producing quality food.
