Apprenticeship Grant for Employers
The AGE 16-24 Grant for Employers is available to support businesses who would not otherwise be in a position to recruit individuals aged 16 to 24 into employment through the Apprenticeship programme, you could be eligible for a grant of up to £1,500.
Your business could claim up to 10 grants, each worth £1,500 for supporting people aged 16-24 into employment through the Apprenticeships programme. To be eligible you must:
- Employ less than 50 employees
- Not have had an employee start an Apprenticeship in the last 12 months
- Commit to employ your apprentice(s) for a minimum of 12 months
- Agree to provide the apprentice(s) with a contract of employment and pay in line with legal minimum requirements or more
If you are eligible for the grant by meeting all of the above criteria, an assessor will complete the relevant paperwork with you when your apprentice starts and the payment is made to you after 13 weeks of the apprentice starting the programme.
