Professional Cookery Level 3 Apprenticeship - Kings Arms Stainton/Sun Inn
We are seeking an apprentice/Junior/ sous chef to join our busy team and assist with the preparation and production of high quality, home cooked, traditional pub food as well as our seasonal restaurant menu. On the Job training will be given as to the way in which we like to work as well as full support with their apprenticeship and any other courses the candidate would like to undertake, for example food hygiene.

5 days a week 4 Working at the pubs and one day at college.
40 hours per week Split Shifts midweek one college day, straight shifts Saturday, and split on Sunday, all hours will be recorded and paid including college hours.
The weekly wage will be dependent upon the candidates ability, age and level of qualification. We will pay competitively and above the national minimum wage.

We are seeking a Sous chef to join our busy team and assist with the preparation and production of high quality, home cooked, traditional pub food as well as our seasonal restaurant menu. We are a small family run business operating two pubs under one business and we are looking to add to our Kitchen team with a chef that will assist the head chefs with daily duties and lead some services.
The Role will be based across the 2 sites. The successful applicant will:
- Be Keen to learn and willing to adapt to Fit into our motivated team.
- Take initiative and share responsibility for everyday kitchen duties.
- Enjoy working closely with others as part of a team, with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
- Be willing to work evening and/ or weekend shifts. Duties of the chef will include
* day to day preparation of food
* stock control and rotation
* planning and delivering new menus to a high standard
* having a knowledge and understanding of food hygiene procedures.
Full on the job training will be given and we would encourage and support the applicant with external training and continued development. Transport is Essential as the Job will entail Split Shifts and there is no Public Transport. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills on the job and gain an understanding of costings and profit margins as well as the practicalities of producing quality food.
We would like the candidate to have a reasonable knowledge of cooking and food preparation however we realise this will develop over time. It is important that the candidate has a good level of customer care and service skills. It is important that the candidate is able to understand what is required from the business so as to help us develop our customer base.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, hard-working, sociable and able to interact with others. We would like the candidate to be flexible too so as to work within our team.
The candidate should have any appropriate candidates however we realise they will be working towards a qualification.
The future prospects for the job really depend on the candidate we would be prepared to offer the candidate a full time position with a view to promotion upon completion of the training programme. We would like the candidate to take more responsibility over time with a view to taking over the running of the Kitchen and becoming head chef.
The Job will involve working unsociable hours i.e. evenings and weekends, this is not negotiable. Transport is also very important to get to work and to be able to travel between the two sites.
