More than 60 competitions will take place across the five skill areas of Engineering, Built Environment, IT & Business Administration, Social & Professional Services, and Cultural and Creative Arts.

Each competition is made up of a series of intensive tests and challenges, which have been designed by industry experts. Students will be judged against a rigorous framework assessing Technical Knowledge, Practical Skills, Ability, and Attitude, as well as evaluating their working methods.

Graham Wilkinson, Principal at Kendal College, said: “Every year our students work hard to earn a place on what is definitely one of the toughest competition stages out there, and within a very speciialised field.  We are all proud to have Jordan and Kaneen representing Kendal College and wish them both the very best of luck in Birmingham.”

Those competitors who excel in the WorldSkills UK Finals may then have the opportunity to compete in the selection process for Team UK in the WorldSkills International Competitions.
