Hairdressing Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Technician to join us in providing outstanding support to our Hairdressing courses at the College.

£17,480 to £19,029 depending upon qualifications and experience.

Part-Time: 18 hours per week || 35 weeks per Year

Closing Date: Monday 21st August

Alongside delivering excellent service in our outstanding Hair and Beauty facilities, the successful Technician will also provide new ideas and expertise to further professionalise our hair salon to increase results and revenue. As an enthusiastic Technician, you will also play an active role in supporting our learners in their theory tutorials and bespoke courses.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • To ensure salons are effectively maintained at all times for lecturing/demonstrating and real work environment purposes.
  • To assist lecturers and learners by demonstration, coaching and support and observation/assessment of learners’ work.
  • To market the salon, relevant courses and external learning activities.
  • To maintain Health & Safety across the department.
  • Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Qualifications - Level 3 Hairdressing qualification
- Level 2 English & Maths (GCSE A* to C or equivalent)
- A degree or equivalent qualification in the related discipline
Experience   - Recent experience of a similar role in an FE/HE environment
Knowledge & Skills - Good general knowledge of health and safety at work in an educational and the relevant vocational environment
